The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) aims to enhance cardholder data security and facilitate the broad adoption of consistent data security measures worldwide. The standard applies to all entities that store, process, or transmit cardholder data, including third-party service providers (TPSPs).
PCI DSS v4.0 went into effect on March 31, 2024, with additional best practices required by March 31, 2025.
